UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISTS FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS

HOW TO FORM A CHAPTER:  UFETA chapters are self-organizing and autonomous.
Any UU congregation with two or more UFETA members can form a chapter.
Chapters work to promote compassion for all species at the local level. A variety of activities are possible: book discussion groups, vegetarian cooking classes, Animal Blessing celebrations, video documentaries, letter writing and animal activism. Some films that are powerful and educational include “The Witness,” “The Emotional Lives of Farm Animals,” and “Diet for A New America."

"Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is -- whether its victim is human or animal -- we cannot expect things to be much better in this world.   We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in [or accept] killing any living creature.  By every act that glorifies or even tolerates such moronic delight in killing, we set back the progress of humanity." ~ Rachel Carson
