EIGHTH
ANNUAL
ALBERT SCHWEITZER SERMON AWARD |
UFETA
(Unitarian Universalists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)
announces the eighth annual Albert Schweitzer Sermon Award.
The award, which carries an honorarium of $400, will be presented
to the Unitarian Universalist presenter of a sermon that best
exemplifies Schweitzer's principle of "reverence for life." The
sermon must have been delivered before a UU congregation between
April 1, 2005 and March 31, 2006. Recipients must also be planning
to attend the 2006 UUA General Assembly where they will deliver
their sermon in a special worship service.
Please
submit sermons by April 1, 2006 as a hard copy and an electronic
copy to:
Rev.
Lee Griener (505-232-0522)

Note
from LoraKim Joyner: Basically, the point of the
Schweitzer Sermon is to encourage people to have services
and to preach about nonhuman issues—with an emphasis
on respect and reverence for animals. What we are looking
for is a copy of the sermon given during this worship service
(and if you need to include a reading or two for it to
make sense, then please do). Send both a hard copy and
an electronic copy to Rev. Griener's addresses above. And
if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to contact
me at amoloros@juno.com.
You don't have to worry about tapes, etc.
