David Miano is Ph.D. candidate in History at the University of California, San Diego. He specializes in the ancient world and in biblical studies, and is now working on his dissertation, Shadow on the Steps: Time Measurement in Ancient Israel. A number of his biblical studies have been published in scholarly journals. He is one of the senior editors of The Biblical Historian, quarterly journal of the Biblical Colloquium West. Miano is also on the Board of Directors of the American Unitarian Conference and currently serves as general editor of another journal, The American Unitarian, to which he contributes articles as well. David lives in La Jolla, California and attends the fortnightly meetings of the Unitarian Christian Fellowship of San Diego (www.ucfsandiego.org) in which he serves as a lay minister.
