We are seeking an accomplished director for our youth choirs who will also facilitate the expression of our young people’s other musical talents and foster a love of making music as part of worship. For the last two decades , The First Religious Society has provided a strong choral program for the children and teens in our church and they have responded with enthusiasm. Our congregation places great value on the role of music in the spiritual life of our church and on those who provide musical leadership.
This opening presents an exceptional opportunity to join with our Music Director, our Director of Religious Education, and our Minister to craft the musical life of a 200-year-old church in the center of a historic and charming seaside community. There are 350 members in our growing membership. The organ, originally built in 1834 and rebuilt in 1957, is considered one of the finest in the area.
The position is on a quarter-time basis over nine months of the year, from August 16, 2009, through May 16, 2010 and has a salary of $7500 and $200 for professional development. The Youth Music Director reports to the Church Music Director.
